Fun fact: the combined cost of a modern PC VR headset plus a PC capable of running it is now actually cheaper than a PC capable of running Half-Life 2 was when it released (after adjusting for inflation).

Just a factoid everyone should remember for the next time you encounter a PC gamer in their late 20s or older saying VR is too expensive. PC VR gaming today is essentially no more expensive than PC gaming itself was as recently as 10-15 years ago (a time many people consider one of its golden ages).

(Not to mention forthcoming full-featured 6DOF standalones such as Santa Cruz which are likely to lower the barrier to entry even further to console-price territory in as soon as the next year-to-eighteen-months.)
